A Young Girl Healed
“What am I to do? She’s dying and I feel helpless
A leader of Ethiopia’s national church planting ministry recently told me, “We witness the most amazing things in Ethiopia today!” He then shared a powerful story of how God is revealing Himself and transforming entire families through His power.
One day, three local leaders stopped a church planter as he walked down the road. Confronting him, they said, “We have persecuted you. We told you not to come here, not to preach your religion — we don’t believe it! Why do you keep coming back?”
But one of them suggested, “Let’s at least listen to what he has to say.”
So, they all sat down under an acai tree.
As the church planter spoke, the men were moved by his message. “We have never heard this before,” they admitted. “We don’t know if it’s true. We must wait and watch before we decide.”
The church planter responded, “Okay, but don’t wait too long — you could die.”
A Life-Changing Miracle
Just as they were about to part ways, a child ran up to the group with urgent news — one of the men’s daughters was gravely ill.
The father jumped to his feet, panic written on his face. The men rushed to his home, where they found family members gathered, weeping and crying out in despair. They believed the child would die at any moment.
The church planter stood quietly, observing.
In desperation, the father turned to him and pleaded, “What am I to do? She’s dying, and I feel helpless. Can you help me?”
The church planter replied, “Yes, I will show you what Jesus can do.”
He prayed — and instantly, the girl was healed.
Stunned, the three religious leaders exclaimed, “How did you do this? We have never seen anything like this before!”
The church planter answered with just one word: “Jesus.”
Right then and there, the father called his family together. Overwhelmed by what they had witnessed, they all prayed and gave their lives to Christ.
God is Moving in Ethiopia
God is demonstrating His power in incredible ways, and as a result, people across Ethiopia — regardless of background — are turning to Jesus.
